About The Position

The Math Learning Lab seeks dedicated part-time tutors who believe in every student's ability to learn mathematics and are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Tutors provide academic support to students enrolled in developmental and college-level mathematics courses, including Statistics, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and other mathematics courses as needed. Math Learning Lab tutors serve as facilitators of learning who believe in every student's ability to succeed. Through compassionate rigor, purposeful questioning, and appropriate scaffolding, tutors foster conceptual understanding, mathematical confidence, and independent learning.

Requirements

• Proficient in Statistics, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.
• Bachelor's Degree or higher.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas.
• Availability for part-time hours as per the tutoring schedule.
• Completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support to students enrolled in developmental and college-level mathematics courses.
• Serve as facilitators of learning.
• Foster conceptual understanding, mathematical confidence, and independent learning through questioning and scaffolding.
