About The Position

This position provides motivated and skilled Math Tutoring to students in college-level mathematics. This position involves providing in-person tutoring in a welcoming, inclusive environment that fosters academic growth. This position concentrates on providing face-to-face Math tutoring services to students in the tutoring centers at the Marion (Grant County) Campus.

Requirements

• Associate degree or documented proficiency in Math subject matter
• Experience in tutoring with adult learners and a diverse population
• Knowledge of college tutoring process
• Over two (2) years of related experience in a computerized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students enrolled in Ivy Tech’s Math 123 and 136 courses in one-on-one or in small groups following the established protocol in the Tutoring Center.
• Complete a summary report for each student upon completion of a session.
• Work with faculty when necessary to ensure best possible outcomes for students.
• Sustain high quality customer service while facilitating back-to-back tutoring sessions.
• Apply advanced problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve student questions and inquiries.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams—including faculty—utilizing transparent and empathetic communication to help elevate departmental services and contribute to team initiatives.
