About The Position

Assist instructional staff in mathematics by providing safe, courteous, and orderly educational support in a friendly and safe environment for students, allowing students to take full advantage of the instructional program and available high-quality instructional materials (HQIM).

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Holds an Educational Aide permit
Ability to interact with students with cognitive disabilities
Experience working with students with moderate needs

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

Assist with preparing math instructional materials and data collection (behavioral, academic, and medical), including progress monitoring of individualized education program (IEP) goals for students.
Provide opportunities for inclusive education and access to evidence-based instructional strategies by working with individual and/or small groups in mathematics, reinforcing instruction, supervising learning centers and work areas, and providing individual attention when needed.
Set up and use instructional equipment such as computers, audiovisual equipment, and related technology; plan activities and assist with the organization of activities from beginning to end.
Maintain behavioral data and reinforce acceptable behaviors, promote positive intra-school and community-school relations.
Assist in evaluating IEP Goals and implementing evidence-based mathematics instructional strategies for small groups or individual students, based on their understanding, needs, interests and abilities.
Assist students to achieve at higher level skills.
Supervise students in hall, lavatory, recess, lunch, playground, and classroom and activities including, but not limited to, emergency drills and assemblies.
Implement and execute provisions of State Statutes, Board Policies and Administrative rules and regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of information and records.
Comply with all Plain Local Board of Education policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as directed.
