About The Position

Braintrust Tutors is seeking dedicated Math educators for in-person support within Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS). As a Math Tutor, you will work with students to strengthen their mathematical reasoning, number sense, and problem-solving strategies. You will provide engaging, consistent lessons using Braintrust Tutors' curriculum and materials, helping students build foundational math skills and confidence. This is a part-time contractor 1099 role, with tutoring scheduled 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, from 8:10 AM to 10:30 AM, consisting of three 45-minute sessions per day. The engagement dates are from September 8th to December 4th, located at Felix Varela Senior High, working with 10th-grade students. While the priority is in-person engagements, additional online roles may be considered to complete a schedule. Applicants must be available for the entire schedule. More specifics will be shared during the selection process.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Active/expired teaching license or at least 5 years of experience working with K-8 students in an educational environment
• Knowledge of math instruction that builds number sense, procedural fluency, and problem-solving skills, with a scope and sequence ranging from counting to multi-digit arithmetic, including decimals and fractions.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Comfort collaborating with teachers and staff
• Punctuality, professionalism, and reliability for all scheduled sessions
• Reliable transportation and/or appropriate technology for instruction
• Passion for literacy and closing opportunity gaps
• Availability for the entire schedule (Sept 8th - December 4th)

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group or 1:1 math tutoring to students developing literacy skills
• Implement Braintrust Tutors' intervention programs as designed, using all materials with fidelity
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic performance
• Collaborate with the Braintrust Tutors Operations team and school staff to support student growth
• Foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment that promotes focus and confidence
• Follow school-site procedures and policies while maintaining a professional and dependable presence
• Use the provided assessments and progress monitoring tools for understanding to guide instruction
• Manage time effectively during sessions to complete all planned instructional activities
