About The Position
Math Corps is seeking Math Tutors to work at Rowland Elementary School to help students improve their math skills. Tutors will work with small groups of students for short, focused sessions throughout the school day, following a structured schedule. The role involves providing individualized attention, encouragement, and celebrating student progress. The program provides training and ongoing coaching to tutors, even those who do not consider themselves math experts. The goal is to help students build confidence and achieve significant growth in their mathematical abilities.
Requirements
- Dependable and have a history of good attendance.
- Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online).
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
- 18 years of age or older with a highschool diploma or equivalent.
- A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check.
Responsibilities
- Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
- Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
- Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software.
- Commit to own growth through coaching and training.
- Share experience with the community.
