About The Position

Math Corps is on a mission to ensure every student has the skills they need to succeed by helping students improve their math skills. As a Math Tutor, you will spend your days at a local school helping students. The program provides training to deliver proven activities and offers coaching. Each school day, you will see groups of up to 3 students for 20-30 minutes of math practice. After the session, you will help students return to their classrooms and then pick up the next group for tutoring. This process repeats until all students are served. The program emphasizes the growth that happens with extra attention and support, encouraging and celebrating students as they build their skills and confidence.

Requirements

• Dependable and have a history of good attendance
• Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback
• Proficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online)
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing
• 18 years of age or older with a highschool diploma or equivalent
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States
• Ability to successfully complete a background check

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult who's focused on helping children thrive
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training
• Share your experience with the community
