About The Position

The Math Tutor supports students in grades 6–8 by building their math confidence. Education Champions provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects, including Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies, Science, and Regents exam preparation. Tutors collaborate with teachers and school leaders to deliver engaging, personalized learning strategies that support students’ academic and personal success. The role is based at an assigned school and offers a flexible schedule of 10–35 hours per week.

Requirements

• Be a degree-seeking student or graduate in Education or a relevant field.
• Have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Be available to work 10–35 hours per week at an assigned school.
• Be committed to supporting academic and personal success, particularly for underserved students.
• Be prepared to collaborate with teachers, school leaders, and fellow tutors.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring to students in grades 6–8.
• Tutor students in core subjects, including Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies, Science, and Regents exam preparation.
• Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to deliver engaging, personalized learning strategies.
• Support students’ academic and personal success.
