About The Position

The Grades 4-6 Elementary Math & Science teacher is responsible for developing students’ academic excellence and virtue by creating a positive culture of inquiry and learning and providing students with challenging and meaningful learning activities and experiences. The mission of The Vanguard School is to help guide students in development of their character and academic potential through academically rigorous, content-rich educational programs.

Requirements

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree
• Passing scores on PRAXIS 5205 (Reading), PRAXIS 5903 (Math), PRAXIS 5905 (Science) if bachelor's degree is not in the same field as the position
• PRAXIS tests must be accomplished within 90 days of start date
• Disclose relevant issues related to criminal history, employment history, and licensure history
• Submit to and pass a CBI / FBI fingerprint background check

• Prior teaching experience preferred but not required
• A teaching certificate/license is NOT required to teach at The Vanguard School
