About The Position

The Math Preceptor will lead four fifty-minute mathematics preceptor sessions per week. These sessions are designed to help students develop skills in fundamental areas like prerequisite pre-calculus topics or to assist them with challenging aspects of current course materials. The Preceptor will be responsible for preparing a class plan and related materials, with support from the program director. Additionally, the Preceptor will participate in a weekly meeting with the preceptor team to discuss educational readings and prepare worksheets for the sessions.

Requirements

• Must be a current student.
• Ability to lead preceptor sessions.
• Knowledge of pre-calculus topics.
• Ability to assist students with course materials.
• Planning and material preparation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead four fifty-minute mathematics preceptor sessions per week.
• Develop students' skills in fundamental areas such as prerequisite pre-calculus topics.
• Help students with the most difficult aspects of the current course materials.
• Prepare a class plan and related materials with support from the program director.
• Meet once a week with the preceptor team to discuss educational readings and prepare worksheets for use in the preceptor sessions.
