About The Position

The Math Preceptor will lead four fifty-minute mathematics preceptor sessions per week. These sessions are designed to help students develop skills in fundamental areas like pre-calculus or to assist them with challenging current course materials. The Preceptor is responsible for planning sessions and preparing related materials with guidance from the program director. Additionally, the Preceptor will participate in a weekly meeting with the preceptor team to discuss educational readings and create worksheets for the sessions.

Responsibilities

• Lead four fifty-minute mathematics preceptor sessions per week.
• Plan sessions to help students develop skills in fundamental areas such as prerequisite pre-calculus topics.
• Assist students with the most difficult aspects of the current course materials.
• Prepare a class plan and related materials with support from the program director.
• Meet once a week with the preceptor team to discuss educational readings.
• Prepare worksheets for use in the preceptor sessions.
