About The Position

Fountain Hills Unified School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Math Interventionist to support students in grades K-12. The Math Interventionist will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and support staff to provide targeted mathematics instruction and interventions designed to accelerate student learning and achievement. The Math Interventionist provides supplemental, evidence-based mathematics instruction to students who require additional academic support. Using assessment data and progress-monitoring tools, the interventionist will identify student needs, develop intervention plans, and deliver small-group and individualized instruction aligned to Arizona Academic Standards and district curriculum.

Requirements

  • Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate.
  • Elementary Education certification required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mathematics instruction and intervention strategies for elementary students.
  • Experience using student data to inform instructional decisions.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MTSS, RTI, progress monitoring, and intervention programs preferred.
  • Endorsement or specialized training in mathematics instruction.
  • Experience providing academic interventions in a K-12 school setting.
  • Knowledge of current best practices in mathematics teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted math interventions for students based on assessment and performance data.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to identify students in need of support and align intervention strategies with classroom instruction.
  • Analyze student achievement data to monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, intervention services, and progress-monitoring data.
  • Participate in MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) and student intervention team meetings.
  • Support the implementation of evidence-based instructional practices and intervention programs.
  • Communicate regularly with teachers, administrators, and families regarding student progress.
  • Assist with screening, benchmarking, and diagnostic assessments.
  • Foster positive relationships with students while creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with instructional coaches, special education staff, and administrators to ensure coordinated student support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
