About The Position

AoPS Academy is seeking passionate Math Instructors to inspire young minds in an engaging, collaborative classroom setting for the academic year 2026-2027. This part-time role involves teaching a company-created curriculum designed for advanced students in small classes, fostering critical thinking and a love for learning. The instructor will manage classrooms, provide feedback on tests, and build relationships with students and families to make a lasting impact on their educational journey.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree is required.
Strong content knowledge in math.
Experience teaching or tutoring students.
Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
Candidates must be located in New York City, NY or the nearby area and must be able to commute to our campus.
Candidates must be available to teach during weekday after-school hours (as early as 4pm) and/or on weekends.
Minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class.

Nice To Haves

A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related or educational field is strongly preferred.
Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred.
A formal teaching credential is not required for this position.

Responsibilities

Teach company-created curriculum and materials designed for advanced students to lead small classes in math.

Expertly manage up to 16 students.
Provide feedback on tests.
