About The Position
AoPS Academy is seeking passionate Math Instructors to inspire young minds in an engaging, collaborative classroom setting for the academic year 2026-2027. This part-time role involves teaching a company-created curriculum designed for advanced students in small classes, fostering critical thinking and a love for learning. The instructor will manage classrooms, provide feedback on tests, and build relationships with students and families.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Strong content knowledge in math.
- Experience teaching or tutoring students.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
- Must be located in New York City, NY or the nearby area and must be able to commute to our campus.
Nice To Haves
- A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related or educational field is strongly preferred.
- Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred.
- A formal teaching credential is not required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Teach company-created curriculum and materials designed for advanced students to lead small classes in math.
- Actively involve students in each class or student-led learning.
- Expertly manage up to 16 students.
- Provide feedback on tests.
- Connect with students and families to make a lasting impact on their educational journey.
- Encourage a love for learning and critical thinking in math.
