About The Position

Help adult learners build the math skills and confidence needed to earn a GED, pursue college, and achieve their career goals. North Idaho College is seeking a part-time Adult Education Center Math Instructor to provide engaging, student-centered instruction to a diverse population of adult learners. In this role, you will teach GED math classes using established curriculum aligned with College and Career Readiness and Common Core standards. You will create a supportive learning environment that accommodates a variety of learning styles, adapt instruction to meet individual student needs, and help learners overcome academic challenges. Through classroom instruction, assessment interpretation, educational planning, and regular feedback, you will guide students as they make progress toward their educational goals. You will maintain student records, monitor progress, utilize classroom technologies, and support students preparing for placement testing and transition into post-secondary education. Working closely with advisors and Adult Education Center staff, you will help connect students with resources and opportunities that promote continued success beyond the classroom.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university
  • A minimum of five years related teaching experience.
  • Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to engage students with varying skill levels and backgrounds.
  • Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Effective classroom management.
  • Proficiency with educational technology.
  • Ability to foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
