About The Position

Mathnasium, The Math Learning Center, is seeking engaging math instructors to teach students in grades K/TK through 12 using the Mathnasium Method™ and its proven curriculum. Instructors provide individualized teaching in a supportive, low-stress environment, helping students strengthen their problem-solving skills and confidence. The role is part-time, approximately 8–20 hours per week, with center hours from 3 PM to 7 PM on weekdays and 10 AM to 2 PM on weekends. Competitive hourly compensation is based on experience and qualifications, and training is provided. The role is with a local franchise operated by GYP Education Institution, which owns multiple centers in Orange County, California. Applicants must demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check. The franchisee—not Mathnasium—is the employer and is responsible for employment matters at its center.

Requirements

• Strong math skills through Pre-Calculus or higher.
• Ability to communicate mathematical concepts clearly and patiently.
• Positive attitude and reliability.
• Enjoy working with children and making math fun.
• Pass a math proficiency or literacy test.
• Provide work authorization and pass a background check.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Calculus knowledge.
• Previous tutoring, teaching, coaching, or mentoring experience.
• College students or graduates in math, education, engineering, or STEM fields.
• High-performing high school juniors or seniors with advanced math skills are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities
