About The Position

Rochester Academy Charter School (RACS) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Math 8 Teacher in our Middle School building for a 2026-2027 opening. We are actively seeking a dynamic and motivated member of the Middle School team. RACS is a public charter school, primarily serving students from the city of Rochester. Over 90% of our students identify as an individual of color. We are a college preparatory school and use data to determine how best to foster student growth. RACS seeks to prepare all graduates for active citizenship. We are seeking teachers who are self-directed, committed, and independent. RACS teachers are team players who work collaboratively, including when planning curriculum. Candidates should know or be ready to learn responsive lesson planning practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or completed a teacher certification program.
• New York State certification is ideal, but out-of-state certification will be considered.
• Belief that all students have the right to high-quality education.
• Belief that restorative practices apply to all members of the school community.

Nice To Haves

• Experience is preferred but not required.
• Completion of a Master's Degree (affects salary calculation).
• Candidates with out-of-state certification will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Plan small group instruction during an intervention period.
• Focus instruction around easily accessible student data.
