Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer Specialty to join the team. This role will be part-time day shift. Requirements

• Certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Start
• Successful completion of the Inova Nuchal Translucency (NT) Program is required within 1 month for team members without the Nuchal Translucency Certification.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Obstetrics & Gynecology Upon Start
• Must be a registered diagnostic sonographer in OB to be considered for this job(ARDMS)
• Two years of hospital or doctor's office-based experience in the performance of specialized maternal-fetal sonography detecting fetal anomalies
• Degree from Accredited Sonography Training Program

Responsibilities

• Correctly identifies patients and their files ensuring a high degree of accuracy, as evidenced by the lack of mislabeled films and files.
• Tracks patients according to department procedures.
• Identifies errors and takes immediate action for corrections.
• Participates in department/hospital performance improvement initiatives, in-services, and meetings, as evidenced by attendance records.
• Demonstrates patient safety in the department by use of side rails, braking mechanisms, and patient monitoring, as demonstrated by risk management reports.
• Reports, documents, and corrects any adverse, unsafe, or unusual conditions, as evidenced by the patient/employee incidence reports to department-specific log books.
