About The Position

Carrier Sekani Family Services (CSFS) is seeking a Maternal Child Health Worker to provide outreach services, pre and postnatal support, and inform communities about the Maternal Child Health Program. This role involves providing services supported by evidence, research, and multidisciplinary expertise on health, social, and program-specific issues within First Nation communities and CSFS clinics. The worker will facilitate workshops, conduct interviews, intakes, and assessments, perform home visits, offer guidance on parenting skills, problem-solving, and childhood growth and development, and provide referrals as needed. A key responsibility is maintaining a documented system of records, including daily charting, monthly and quarterly reports, statistical records, incident reports, and personal files required by the program.

Requirements

  • Two-year diploma in a social science or health science degree program required, or
  • DONA International certified Doula, and
  • Experience and/or training in Early Childhood Education

Responsibilities

  • Provides services to clients supported by evidence, research and multidiscipline expertise on the wide range of health, social, and program specific issues related to health care services within First Nation communities and CSFS clinics.
  • Facilitate workshops and information sessions, conduct interviews, intakes, and assessments
  • Conduct home visits, provide information related to parenting skills, problem solving, childhood growth and development, and provide referrals as required
  • Maintain a documented system of records for files which is inclusive of daily charting, monthly reports, quarterly reports, statistical records and reports, incident reports and the maintenance of personal files and forms required by the program
