About The Position

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involving the management, from acquisition to disposal, of all supplies and equipment used to support an institution or agency. These responsibilities include procurement, receipt, storage, control, issuance, inventory, delivery of material, equipment, records, agency mail, and other supplies used to support agency business practices.

Requirements

  • Two years experience in receipt, storage, or stock handling work, issuance of material, customer service, or clerical office work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of simple arithmetic.
  • Knowledge of the English language.
  • Knowledge of storage methods and procedures.
  • Knowledge of inventory methods and techniques and maintaining detailed inventory records.
  • Knowledge of warehousing practices and techniques.
  • Knowledge of stock handling.
  • Knowledge of the operation of warehouse equipment.
  • Knowledge of stock identification methods.
  • Ability to write simple reports.
  • Ability to follow oral or written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to store and warehouse a variety of supplies.
  • Ability to maintain detailed inventory records.
  • Ability to maintain accurate warehouse records.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Skill to operate a forklift.
  • Meet the qualifications for permanent appointment as Police or Peace Officers as provided for in Title 70, Section 3311(F).
  • Possess the ability and willingness to carry a firearm and use deadly force as required.
  • Have and maintain physical and mental stamina to perform the work.
  • Willing to accept the physical discomforts and/or dangers inherent in the work, as evidenced by a complete physical examination that meets the specifications of the Oklahoma Alcohol Beverage Laws Enforcement Commission.
  • Willing to be on call twenty-four (24) hours a day seven (7) days a week.
  • Willing to work varied shifts and work days, including holidays.
  • Pass a rigid character and background investigation.
  • Pass a psychological examination as required by state statutes.
  • Willing to travel frequently and be away from home for extended periods of time.
  • Willing to transfer where needed and to accept assignment anywhere in the state.
  • No member of the Alcoholic Beverage Laws Enforcement Commission...shall be appointed or serve who has been convicted of a felony or of any violation of any federal or state law relating to alcoholic beverages.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, issues, ships and arranges materials, equipment, records, agency mail and other supplies in proper locations using machinery as needed.
  • Provides centralized mail services and /or performs centralized printing functions.
  • Inspects items for conformance with specifications.
  • Conducts inventories, maintains records, files reports, and performs administrative duties.
  • Assists requisitioners in preparation of specifications.
  • Acts as liaison to the agency purchasing agent/Central Purchasing.
  • Supervises and trains subordinate personnel and edits requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Confers with department heads, vendors, and outside agencies concerning purchases, deliveries, and acceptability of supplies.
  • Coordinates with other units/divisions as needed to clarify policy, procedure and determine status for a wide range of service and support related requests, which may include the acquisition, storage, disbursement and/or disposal of assets and records.
