Materials Test Technician
About The Position
The Materials Test Technician supports material testing for quality control as part of Divergent’s Adaptive Production System (DAPS). The role operates standard tensile and fatigue test systems for material quality control and characterization, performs system checks and periodic maintenance, follows test procedures and the Manufacturing Execution System, documents work, and records data using Excel and related software. This is an on-site position in a factory environment. The schedule is a consistent first shift, 5:00 AM–4:30 PM, on a 3–4 day, 11-hour schedule, working every other Wednesday (Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Sunday). The first several weeks of training follow a Monday–Friday, 8-hour schedule.
Requirements
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to U.S. export controls.
- Careful worker with attention to detail.
- Experience in a test lab, machine shop, or similar setting.
- High school degree, GED, or higher.
- Able to work on-site.
- Able to lift and carry 30+ lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in some form of mechanical testing.
- Experience with basic hand tools.
- Experience with tensile testing.
- Experience with fatigue testing.
- Competence in Excel and other Microsoft tools.
Responsibilities
- Operate standard tensile and fatigue test systems used for material quality control and characterization.
- Perform system checks and periodic maintenance as required.
- Follow Divergent’s Manufacturing Execution System and properly document all work performed.
- Accurately record data in Excel and related software applications.
- Follow the instructions in Divergent’s standard test procedures.
