Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of mobile devices including but not limited to cell phones and tablets.
  • Ability to learn new programs and software with generalized training.
  • Working knowledge of Windows OS.
  • Working knowledge of IOS.
  • Functional ability to use MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of home networking including but not limited to navigating routers.
  • Ability to actively use available resources to find solutions (e.g., Internet, case notes, etc).
  • General knowledge of computers and related peripherals.
  • Basic knowledge of warehouse operations and rules.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision.
  • General knowledge of proper sanitization and health guidelines as they apply to resending phones, accessories, etc., to the public.
  • General knowledge in technical writing.
  • Basic knowledge of VPN and firewalls.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a high-quality results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion, make sound decisions, and maintain confidentiality.

  • Proficient in MS Office, modern communication tools for virtual teams (i.e., MS Teams).

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional testing on returned phones, including audio, connections, and OS.
  • Conduct cosmetic inspections to identify defects or physical damage.
  • Perform reverse engineering on Caption Phones, including disassembly, examination, and analysis of manufacturing defects.
  • Work closely with the company engineer and development department.
  • Provide disposition of returned phones based on company grading and customer needs.
  • Receive returned phones from shipping and perform cosmetic inspection.
  • Grade all returned company assets (cosmetically) for refurbishment and/or E-Waste.
  • Ensure all functions of tested assets are Equivalent to New (ETN) before releasing to customers.
  • Ensure tested and cosmetically sound asset parts (handsets, power adapters, curly cords, stands) are available in Finished Goods Inventory (FGI) for customer requests.
  • Test parameters as needed to reflect potential bugs found, reported, or issues relayed from the field to assist in narrowing down issues.
  • Compile detailed findings and send them to the Manager and other Departments as per protocol.
  • Report findings on returned phones to the Engineering Department, including audio issues, potential bugs, caption complaints, and cosmetic defects.
  • Verify RMA cases meet the minimum requirements for Triage to process requests from Support.
  • Present findings to Departments in a clear and comprehensive manner, covering bug reports, system issues, training opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Monitor unusual account activity discovered in daily implementation jobs that may impact duties.
  • Collaborate with other departments and management to find prompt solutions or workarounds for issues preventing the Triage process.
  • Act and react promptly to additional requests from Management without impacting daily responsibilities.
