About The Position
Element has an opportunity for a Materials Testing Engineer. In this role, you will work with engineers and technicians to perform tasks related to non-metallic and metallic materials testing including sample preparation, test setup, testing, and reporting. This opportunity will provide you with valuable on the job experience and exposure to the materials testing field.
Requirements
- Bachelor's (B.S.) degree in Materials Science or a related field
Nice To Haves
- 2-4 years related work experience preferred but not necessary
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of physical property testing including, but not limited to; tensile, compression, flexural, hardness, thermal conductivity, flammability, water absorption, vapor transmission, color, gloss, adhesion, etc.
- Prepare and analyze non-metallic samples for testing
- Interpret data, review, and report testing results
- Possess strong inter-personal skills for verbal and written communication with clients and colleagues
- Perform equipment verification and preventative maintenance
- Perform proficiency testing in qualified disciplines
- Participate in personal training, cross training of employees, and continued learning of testing techniques
- Work within our project management and accounting systems
- Perform all duties as required within an ISO 17025 quality system
- Abide by all safety and housekeeping rules and regulations
- Other related duties as assigned
