About The Position

The Materials Technician performs various warehouse/storeroom tasks including receiving, stocking, and filing of delivery paperwork. This role ensures that appropriate goods and/or services are accurately received into the system, inventory items are stocked daily, and non-stock items are delivered promptly to the requesting department. The technician also pulls and delivers daily inventory orders and backorder releases, counts and refills par-level areas, and assists with vendor returns and repair shipments. Additionally, the role involves customer service responsibilities such as answering phones, returning calls, and assisting departments with inquiries and special requests. The technician works with clinical areas to review par levels and documents all supplies issued as ‘walk-ins’, including logging patient IDs if chargeable. This is a full-time, day shift position at Texas Health Fort Worth.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to meet time standards required by position.
  • Basic computer, reading and writing skills.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle moderately difficult requests by performing necessary research.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of relevant materials management experience preferred
  • One year customer service experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs various Warehouse/Storeroom tasks including, receiving, stocking, filing of delivery paperwork/documents.
  • Accurately receives appropriate goods and/or services into the appropriate system.
  • Stocks shelves/inventory items daily with incoming goods.
  • Delivers non-stock items on a timely basis to the requesting department.
  • Pulls and delivers daily inventory orders and backorder releases to the requesting department.
  • Counts and refills daily par-level areas.
  • Assists with returning items to the vendor and with the shipment of repairs.
  • Delivers items on the same day the order arrives.
  • Accounts for and delivers all overnight or expedited requests to the requesting area as quickly as possible.
  • Answers the phone, returns calls, pagers and assists departments with questions, concerns and special requests.
  • Works with clinical areas to review par levels or other routine supply issues.
  • Documents any supplies that are requested and issued as ‘walk-ins’ including logging the patient ID if chargeable.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned by management.
