The role involves performing various warehouse/storeroom tasks, including receiving, stocking, and delivering inventory, as well as assisting with returns and shipments. Additionally, the position requires excellent customer service skills, including answering phones, returning calls, and assisting departments with inquiries and special requests. The Materials Technician will work with clinical areas to review par levels and document supplies issued as 'walk-ins'.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of relevant materials management experience preferred
  • One year customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to meet time standards required by position.
  • Basic computer, reading and writing skills.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle moderately difficult requests by performing necessary research.

Responsibilities

  • Performs various Warehouse/Storeroom tasks including, receiving, stocking, filing of delivery paperwork/documents.
  • Ensures appropriate goods and/or services are accurately received into the appropriate system.
  • Stocks shelves/inventory items daily with incoming goods.
  • Delivers non-stock items on a timely basis to the requesting department.
  • Pulls and delivers daily inventory orders and backorder releases to the requesting department.
  • Counts and refills daily par-level areas.
  • Assists with returning items to the vendor and with the shipment of repairs, etc.
  • Delivers items on the same day the order arrives.
  • Accounts for all overnight or expedited requests and delivers them to the requesting area as quickly as possible.
  • Answers the phone, returns calls, pagers and assists departments with questions, concerns and special requests.
  • Works with clinical areas to review par levels or other routine supply issues.
  • Documents any supplies that are requested and issued as ‘walk-ins’ including logging the patient ID if chargeable.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned by management.
