About The Position

The Materials Technician performs various warehouse/storeroom tasks including receiving, stocking, and filing of delivery paperwork. This role is responsible for ensuring appropriate goods and/or services are accurately received into the system, stocking shelves daily, delivering non-stock items and daily inventory orders to requesting departments, and counting and refilling par-level areas. The technician also assists with returning items to vendors and shipping repairs. Additionally, the role involves customer service duties such as answering phones, returning calls, and assisting departments with questions, concerns, and special requests. The technician works with clinical areas to review par levels and documents any supplies requested and issued as ‘walk-ins’, including logging patient ID if chargeable. This is a full-time position with evening hours.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to meet time standards required by position.
  • Basic computer, reading and writing skills.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle moderately difficult requests by performing necessary research.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of relevant materials management experience preferred
  • One year customer service experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs various Warehouse/Storeroom tasks including, receiving, stocking, filing of delivery paperwork/documents.
  • Ensures appropriate goods and/or services are accurately received into the appropriate system.
  • Stocks shelves/inventory items daily with incoming goods.
  • Delivers non-stock items on a timely basis to the requesting department.
  • Pulls and delivers daily inventory orders and backorder releases to the requesting department.
  • Counts and refills daily par-level areas.
  • Assists with returning items to the vendor and with the shipment of repairs.
  • Delivers items on the same day the order arrives.
  • Accounts for and delivers all overnight or expedited requests to the requesting area as quickly as possible.
  • Answers the phone, returns calls, pagers and assists departments with questions, concerns and special requests.
  • Works with clinical areas to review par levels or other routine supply issues.
  • Documents any supplies that are requested and issued as ‘walk-ins’ including logging the patient ID if chargeable.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned by management.
