About The Position

The Material Supervisor will be responsible for material planning and production fulfillment, ensuring on-time material delivery. This role typically involves working hours from 6am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. The supervisor will drive a safety culture focused on exposure reduction and supervise Material Control Specialists (MCS) for the 1st Shift on the assigned Value Stream, as well as MCS from one assigned support category (Big Move, IST, or Kitting). Key responsibilities include ensuring consistent availability of Quality Material On-Time to support production demands, performing Material Planning and work order/demand management, supporting the closure of work orders and accurate consumption, and owning/maintaining Lineside Inventory planning and accuracy. The role also involves reporting and driving improvement across standard KPIs for line replenishment, material transactions, and material planning, providing forward-looking visibility to material challenges and risks through partnership with Supply Chain, and serving as the single point of contact for Production for shift material escalations. Additionally, the supervisor will coordinate cross-value stream resource planning with other Material Managers as required.

Requirements

  • Understanding of key concepts in material planning/ replenishment through utilization of MRP systems
  • Materials/ Production experience
  • People management experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to present information to various levels of Leadership
  • Ability to identify and drive actionable outcomes through influence
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree and 2 or more years of experience. Work experience considered in lieu of a degree
  • APICS, CPIM Certification
  • Moderate to expert reporting in analytics
  • Experience with Bargaining Unit environment

Responsibilities

  • Drive safety culture focused on exposure reduction.
  • Supervise MCS’ for 1st Shift on the assigned Value Stream (and Planners/MPCs if applicable), as well as MCS’ from one assigned support category (Big Move, IST, or Kitting).
  • Ensure consistent availability of Quality Material On-Time to support production demands.
  • Perform Material Planning and work order / demand management in lieu of shift planning support.
  • Support closure of work orders and accurate consumption.
  • Own and Maintain Lineside Inventory planning and inventory accuracy.
  • Report and drive improvement across standard KPI’s for line replenishment, material transactions, and material planning.
  • Provide forward-looking visibility to material challenges and risk to key internal stakeholders, through partnership with Supply Chain.
  • Provide single POC for Production for shift material escalations, driving adequate hand-off to other shifts, and ensuring exceptions are handled expeditiously.
  • Coordinate cross-value stream resource planning with other Material managers as required.
