About The Position

Glastender, Inc., a family-owned manufacturer of stainless steel bar and restaurant equipment, is seeking an experienced Materials Supervisor to join our leadership team. As Materials Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely availability, control, and flow of materials within a made-to-order manufacturing environment. This role supports production schedules, maintains inventory accuracy, and drives operational efficiency by coordinating plant-level material planning, handling, staging, and internal logistics. You will lead a highly skilled, motivated, and accountable workforce, while upholding our strong culture of safety, employee engagement, and operational excellence. Requirements

  • College degree in business or a related field, or a commensurate level of related experience
  • Four to six years progressive experience in materials management, including experience in inventory control, production control, and supervision of employees
  • Extensive knowledge of MRP systems, inventory control, and materials planning processes
  • Knowledge of quality controls, process costs, lean manufacturing concepts, and techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods and services
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop planned materials management programs, oversee MRP processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Plan and manage short and long range production plans considering manpower, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory.
  • Provide leadership and direction to team members through communication, coaching and role modeling.
  • Establish and maintain strong cross-functional communication to ensure seamless operational flow and process alignment.
  • Collaborate with Production, Scheduling, and Quality teams to resolve material constraints, improve internal material flow, and support on-time delivery.
  • Track materials operations through data collection, analysis, and performance charting to ensure adherence to work standards and schedules.
  • Lead cycle counting activities and annual physical inventory.
