About The Position

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week on the 2nd Shift, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, including every other weekend and holiday. The role involves maintaining medical supplies inventory for designated departments, accurately counting and replenishing par levels, organizing storage areas, and ensuring patient chargeable items are correctly labeled. The specialist will also be responsible for accuracy in matching goods with receiving slips, checking for expired goods, and rotating incoming supplies to prevent expiration. Adherence to general hospital standards for a cooperative work environment and providing the highest level of service to patient care areas are key aspects of the role. Additional responsibilities include managing over-the-counter issues, courier services, and bed storage/transfer services, while ensuring all work areas are clean, orderly, and materials are placed properly for distribution.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or the equivalent in experience preferred.
• Previous experience with warehouse/receiving or distribution of supplies preferred.
• Knowledge of medical/surgical supplies
• Good computer skills
• Good telephone skills

Responsibilities

• Maintains medical supplies inventory for designated departments.
• Accurately counts par levels and replenishes par levels per established schedule.
• Organizes storage areas in a neat and orderly manner.
• Notifies lead distribution technician when any stock levels reach critical low levels or outage.
• Ensures that all patient chargeable items are clearly and accurately labeled with date and charge number.
• Accuracy in matching goods with receiving slips.
• Accuracy in counting supplies on assigned par levels.
• Accuracy in checking for expired goods.
• Amends par level sheets to meet the needs of the department.
• Rotates incoming supplies with supplies on the shelf to ensure that no products expire.
• Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
• Ensures the highest possible level of service to patient care areas through accurate inventory of par stock areas.
• Ensures the rotation of medical supplies within the par stock area on each nursing unit.
• Assumes responsibility for over-the-counter issues, courier service and bed storage/transfer services.
• Ensures all work areas are clean and orderly.
• Ensure materials and supplies are placed properly in designated location for distribution.
