The Materials Specialist ensures compliance with established procedures and company standards to maintain effective control over the physical product flow and storage for the warehouse and other inventory areas. This role supports operations by supervising or directly executing warehouse processes including reception, issuance, counting, and junking. The specialist will implement required documentation and labelling per company standards and local requirements, and maintain timely input to the Warehouse Management System, ensuring accurate stock transaction records. A key aspect of this role is proactively monitoring and implementing local strategies to reduce excess and ageing stock for assigned Divisions. The specialist will execute cycle counts and periodical physical counts, including plan creation, posting of adjustments, root cause analysis, and reporting per global procedure. They will perform periodic reviews of exception reports to maintain data integrity in the Warehouse Management System and promote, execute, and follow-up internal field material transfers until final closure, ensuring quality controls are carried out and are compliant with quality standards. The role aims for continuous improvement and regular use of Lean tools such as 5S exercises to improve warehouse efficiency and reduce waste, and will implement advanced techniques such as Kitting and Kanban to improve local materials management efficiency. The specialist will conduct periodic self-assessments and audits as dictated by global processes and assist technicians at the service window with parts and inventory requests, including looking up part numbers and quantities accurately, and checking parts and materials in and out of inventory systems. Maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting daily operations are also core functions.
