Our client Limited is an oilfield services company and has more than 140 nationalities working in more than 120 countries. This Client has four principal executive offices located in Paris, Houston, London and The Hague. This Client is the world's largest offshore drilling company. The Materials Specialist is responsible to execute warehouse activities within the assigned Division/location. They ensure adherence to company standards, applying good housekeeping practices, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency, ensuring goods are received, stored and issued to internal and external customers in a timely manner. They maintain inventory accuracy, both physically and in the warehouse management system and provide support on planning and stock replenishment activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Basic computer skills required, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and team communication/chat applications
  • Experience with phone communication and customer service
  • Ability to learn and use inventory management systems and applications (training provided)
  • Must maintain good attendance and arrive on time for scheduled shifts
  • Should proactively communicate any planned time off and provide advance notice whenever possible
  • Demonstrates professionalism, dependability, and a commitment to supporting the team

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with established procedures and company standards to maintain effective control over the physical product flow and storage for the warehouse and other inventory areas.
  • Support operations by either supervising or directly executing warehouse processes (reception, issuance, counting, junking, etc.).
  • Implement required documentation and labelling per company standards and local requirements.
  • Maintain timely input to the Warehouse Management System and ensure accurate stock transaction records.
  • Proactively monitor and implement local strategies to reduce excess and ageing stock (specifically aim for a reduction of DSOH and slow-moving indicators) for the assigned Divisions.
  • Execute cycle count and periodical physical counts: plan creation/posting of adjustments/root cause and reporting per global procedure.
  • Perform periodic reviews of the exception reports in order to maintain data integrity in the Warehouse Management System, including but not limited to discrepancies between systems, unit price, aged open/failed/pending for approval/unmatched transactions, and inactive parts.
  • Promote, execute, and follow-up internal field material transfers, until final closure, ensuring quality controls are carried out and are compliant with the Division quality standards.
  • Aim for continuous improvement and regular use of Lean tools such as 5S exercise to improve WH efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Implement, as applicable, advanced techniques (e.g., Kitting, Kanban) to improve local materials management efficiency.
  • Conduct periodic self-assessments and audits as dictated by the Client global processes.
  • Assist technicians at the service window with parts and inventory requests.
  • Look up part numbers and quantities accurately.
  • Check parts and materials in and out of inventory systems.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and support daily operations.
