About The Position

This role involves conducting material and/or chemical characterizations to support Specimen Management projects. The position requires preparing samples/prototypes for analysis, developing and executing test protocols, documenting results, and reviewing documentation for accuracy. Responsibilities also include the maintenance of equipment and laboratory facilities.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, or related disciplines
  • Good understanding of material structure-property relationships
  • Hands-on experience with analytical or material characterization instrumentation such as INSTRON, DSC/TGA, DMA and FTIR, UV-VIS
  • Hands-on experience with wet laboratory equipment and skills
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Material Science, chemistry, or related discipline
  • Experience and knowledge in blood biology and clinical assays
  • Proficient with Minitab
  • Experience in design of experiments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as ability to communicate effectively with scientists and engineers from a wide range of technical backgrounds
