A brighter future is possible with you. We are currently seeking a Materials Science and Engineering or Chemical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. This position is 100% onsite located in Columbus, Ohio. The selected candidate will work with our Advanced Materials group specializing in synthesis, formulation and processing, testing and evaluation of polymeric, ceramic and metallic materials.

Requirements

• At least a sophomore who is currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree or graduate degree program in a science-based discipline, such as chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science and engineering
• Knowledge of lab procedures and capable of keeping accurate lab records
• Knowledge of testing and characterization equipment
• Ability to prepare and deliver written reports and presentations
• Must be a sole US citizen with ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a laboratory or previous related internship experience preferred, but not necessary
• Course work in polymer materials is preferred
• Course work in organic chemistry is preferred

Responsibilities

• Literature review
• Formulation of materials such as adhesives, sealants, and coatings
• Physical and chemical property testing of materials
• Testing and evaluation of materials such as rubbers, plastics, and metals
• Will safely work in a collaborative fast-paced, team environment
• Keep accurate records of lab experiments
