About The Position

Materials Sampling Specialist The Materials Sampling Specialist will perform job duties and functions in a GMP environment under general supervision within Quality Control. Position Summary This position is 100% on-site at the Greenville site. Catalent’s Greenville, N.C. facility specializes in end-to-end turn-key solutions for oral solid dosage forms, including integrated formulation development, analytical services, commercial manufacturing, and packaging. This state-of-the-art facility has had over $100M of investments in recent years and features fit-for-scale capacity with potent handling capabilities, ideal for orphan or targeted drug development. This team supports all internal activities at the Catalent Greenville site for pre-commercial and commercial activities.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in science/technology or business/logistics related discipline or; High School diploma with a minimum of two years of applicable experience or completion of Grads2Work. Program or BioWorks certificate program required.
  • Position requires the ability to lift to 40 lbs., unassisted
  • Operates machinery and tools, including pallet jack and forklift
  • Majority of the work day is performed while standing, walking, lifting, pulling, and pushing.
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Some exposure to hazardous chemicals and other active pharmaceutical ingredients.
  • This position requires that a respirator be worn for your safety, and as such, employment is contingent upon being able to complete a medical evaluation with satisfactory results. The medical evaluation is conducted via an external vendor assigned by Catalent.

  • Experience with a MRP system preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all regulatory guidelines, cGMP guidelines, Environmental Health and Safety regulations as required by the job function
  • Retrieve raw material lots from warehouse or quarantine storage following GMP, safety, and material handling procedures.
  • Perform primary and composite sampling of raw materials using appropriate tools and aseptic/clean sampling techniques.
  • Ensure samples are collected in accordance with approved SOPs, sampling plans, and regulatory requirements (FDA, EMA, ICH).
  • Label sample containers accurately and securely to maintain traceability applying data integrity principles (ALCOA+).
  • Complete sampling worksheets, logbooks, and material status forms with accurate, legible, and real-time documentation.
  • Report any deviations, unusual observations, or nonconforming materials immediately to QA/Management.
  • All other duties as assigned.
