About The Position

Coordinates and expedites the flow of materials, part, and assemblies from suppliers to Inalfa and onto department areas. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of the supply chain within the automotive industry, specifically focusing on roof systems for future car models. The company is a world-leading supplier for OEM automotive roof systems and is experiencing growth.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent; and 2 to 5 years of automotive experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Regularly required to walk and to sit; use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and to talk and hear.
  • Must occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
  • Regularly works in an office environment.
  • Occasionally works in the manufacturing area around moving mechanical equipment and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews production schedules (MPS) and related information to determine material requirements (MRP)
  • Sends releases to schedule materials from suppliers weekly or daily
  • Communicates materials concerns to suppliers
  • Expedites materials as necessary
  • Verifies receiving input
  • Experience with Lean initiatives and processes
  • Lends input and involvement in the overall logistics strategy of Inalfa Roof Systems
  • Manages freight coordination with supply base to budget
  • Manages inventory levels to budgeted inventory turns
  • Experience in ERP systems
  • Domestic & International freight coordination
  • Customer Service experience
  • Inventory control & cycle count experience
  • Report out at meetings on expedites, customer concerns, missed shipments and other related material concerns.
  • Adhere to all IATF 16949 procedures as related to the materials department function.
