About The Position

The Materials Project Coordinator will reside at the McKinney, TX location and report to the Materials Project Supervisor. This position will be responsible for managing the material implementation segment of Engineering Change Notices. They will assure that processes requiring Plant/Division coordination for new product implementation and product changes are well defined and supported. This person will coordinate the material segment of these changes with the supplier, to establish a mutually agreed upon implementation date while minimizing surplus and obsolete inventory.

  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints and clearly communicate technical information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Associate’s degree in business administration or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in materials or manufacturing support required.

Responsibilities

  • Review Engineering Change Notices and assess for potential impact on operations.
  • Identify issues and develop interdepartmental strategies for implementation of Engineering Change Notices
  • Track project implementation status including plant and supplier inventory levels, PPAP status, tooling status, and other critical information
  • Direct the materials organization toward stated project implementation objectives
  • Analyze overall project impact to materials. Identify and communicate pertinent information regarding lead times, inventory, costs and project financial risks to Change Control and Materials management
  • Work in partnership with Engineering and Division Materials, Corporate Quality, Corporate Purchasing, suppliers, and the plants to ensure smooth project implementations
  • Coordinate and process disposition of obsolete material associated with ECN implementation
  • Create reports and write scripts as required
  • Other duties as assigned
