About The Position

Sika is looking for a Materials Preparation Technician to join its growing team in Shakopee, MN. Sample Lab Technician’s primary responsibilities are centered around the application of products and systems manufactured and/or designed by Sika. This position is responsibilities include cutting and sanding a variety of materials, and following the directions described by the data guides for the materials that are being used. The Sample Lab Technician needs to have a basic understanding of high school math, be adept with the use of a variety of carpentry tools. This role will be expected to keep track of the materials that they are using and notify the Sample Lab Supervisor of any materials that they are running out of. On the job training and job appropriate P.P.E. will be supplied by the Sample Lab Supervisor.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Basic math skills
Ability to stand for long periods
Ability to lift 65+ lbs
Willing to shave facial hair to wear a half‑face respirator
Comfortable with strong, non‑hazardous odors
Ability to work independently and on a team

Nice To Haves

Experience in carpentry, masonry, adhesives, waterproofing, flooring, concrete repair, façade systems, or coatings
Basic Microsoft Office knowledge
