About The Position

The Materials Planning and Logistics Manager is responsible for inventory management, material handling, systems information flow, root cause analysis, shipping and logistics execution, and Inventory accuracy. This role will lead end-to-end inventory processes across the DC, including management of ~$10M in finished goods inventory, cycle counting programs across a 2-shift operation, and maintaining physical inventory exemption. The manager will own inventory accuracy–related DC High-5 metrics through strategic projects, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement in receipt, storage, picking, and material flow processes. They will develop and optimize the strategy for location accuracy, including monitoring, auditing, and standard work documentation for Inventory Technicians. Additionally, the role involves creating visibility to in-transit inventory from interunit and external supply partners, translating insights into proactive advance planning with the DC Operations team, analyzing data including enterprise requirements planning information, and preparing consolidated managerial reports. The manager will oversee day-to-day shipping, receiving, and material handling operations, evaluate operational performance to support team performance management, and collaborate with the extended Bussmann Division SCM team to align DC inventory strategy with logistics, procurement, planning, and quality functions. Adherence to and enforcement of all safety rules and procedures, reporting unsafe conditions, and providing backup support to the DC Operations team are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain or manufacturing/distribution center environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot user issues and adapt training to different learning styles

  • Experience with WMS platforms such as Manhattan or AS400
