About The Position

The Materials Planner assists with materials requirements planning, material handling and placement, replenishment methodologies, and coordinating priorities with supporting departments to ensure uninterrupted material flow into manufacturing. The role plans inventory and material requirements, supports production scheduling, and works with management and supply chain partners to meet production goals and customer demand.

Requirements

Seven years of related experience in the manufacturing industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A current and valid driver's license and a driving record that meets the company's insurance carrier's insurability guidelines.
Personal computer skills and familiarity with ERP business systems software relevant to the area of responsibility.
Ability to use a keyboard and 10-key by touch.

Responsibilities

Plan all inventory parts within the assigned responsibility area, deciding whether to release, firm, cancel, or defer work based on inventory, demand, and capacity.
Handle, place, and internally deliver materials.
Place and maintain purchase orders for raw materials within the assigned responsibility area.
Review and report how demand affects future inventory levels, forecasting required materials to meet production goals and complete orders on time.
Work with management to expedite or defer materials as internal and external customer requirements change and as production and inventory objectives dictate.
Plan requirements for common materials and supplies to meet variable external customer demand.
Establish material replenishment triggers and provisioning methodologies within the production process.
Work with production to execute and update the master production schedule.
Collaborate with supply chain partners to ensure effective use of inventory.
