About The Position

Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Materials Manager manages materials functions, including inventory, quality, pricing, and delivery. The role ensures compliance with BOS, ISO/IATF-16949, customer-specific requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local laws, including CPTAT. The Materials Manager works with the Operations Manager on production plans and forecasts, develops sales forecasts, and adjusts them when release information indicates changes. The position also manages plant MRP requirements to meet customer expectations at the most efficient cost to the business and participates in the plant’s Health, Safety, and Environmental program.

Responsibilities

Manage materials functions, including inventory, quality, pricing, and delivery.
Comply with BOS, ISO/IATF-16949, and customer-specific requirements, referencing the ADIENT BOS Responsibilities Matrix for requirements related to the job title.
Work with the Operations Manager to develop production plans and forecasts.
Develop sales forecasts and adjust them when release information indicates changes.
Monitor inventory adjustments and cycle counting.
Ensure regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including CPTAT.
Manage plant MRP requirements to meet customer expectations at the most efficient cost to the business.
Identify waste throughout the plant, with particular attention to items contributing to plant inventory shrink.
Develop and update Materials procedures affecting assigned work centers.
Participate in the Health, Safety, and Environmental program by following applicable policies, procedures, and work instructions, including safety rules, safety observation audits, regulatory compliance, environmental awareness and audits, and continuous improvement.
