About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Material Manager to lead and optimize global sourcing, purchasing, tariff control, negotiations, managing vendor relationships, and management of all inventories essential to our operations. The Materials Manager will lead our team and oversee the planning, procurement, storage, control, distribution, and logistics of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements. This role is responsible for planning, purchasing, and stockroom operations, as well as supporting New Product Introduction (NPI).

  • Proficient with inventory reporting systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Five years of experience in materials control field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet costs, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Negotiate both domestic and international terms, pricing, and delivery contracts.
  • Directs production and inventory control, shipping and receiving, and materials storage.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.
  • Analyze market trends and supply chain news and data to anticipate risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and import/export laws.
  • Collaborates with production, engineering, quality, and planning teams to align material availability with demand forecasts.
  • Maintains inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines.
  • Maintains and ensures accuracy of the dynamic inventory system.
  • Responsible for overall materials planning processes to meet production and delivery goals.
  • Responsible for stockroom operations, including organization, security, and inventory accuracy.
  • Responsible for managing the material aspects of New Product Introduction (NPI), including coordination with engineering and production teams to ensure material availability and readiness.
  • Oversees shipping and receiving functions related to purchased parts and finished goods.
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce transportation costs and charges.
  • Manages and monitors storage of purchased parts and finished goods.
  • Performs write-offs on damaged or obsolete inventory to reflect accurate value of inventory.
  • Establishes procedures for conducting and valuing year-end physical inventory.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
