About The Position

We are looking for a Materials Manager - Tolling Specialist to join our Performance Chemicals team in Houston, TX. As an innovative partner, BASF’s Performance Chemicals division offers chemicals for various customer industries, such as plastics, automotive, refining, lubricants, oilfield and mining. Our highly qualified and experienced team with outstanding market knowledge as well as our innovation platform and application know-how ensure our technological competence to provide excellent solutions to our customers. As a Materials Manager – Tolling Specialist, you’ll be responsible for regional material allocation and monitoring activities, as well as export order management for the Oilfield Chemicals and Mining businesses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a high school diploma also considered with relevant experience.
  • At least one year of experience in tolling planning and material management.
  • Educational and professional background in Supply Chain or Logistics.
  • Experience in the chemical or oil and gas industry (preferred).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP (APO) and SAP R/3 COBALT.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and coordinating the supply and delivery of raw materials to tolling partners in line with production schedules and delivery capability targets.
  • Monitoring and managing inventory levels for tolling materials, including stock sent out and received back, reconciliation, and proactive management of aged or dysfunctional inventory.
  • Overseeing and coordinating logistics and transportation to and from tolling sites, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring and maintaining end‑to‑end visibility of tolling flows for existing and new tolling opportunities, including accurate and timely SAP postings.
  • Acting and communicating as the main point of contact with tolling partners, suppliers, Product Management, and Customer Service to resolve issues, manage shortages, and address foreseen supply risks.
  • Managing and executing SAP tolling transactions with high proficiency, ensuring timely, accurate posting of movements, allocations, deliveries, and financial transactions.
  • Ensuring and investigating quality, compliance, and non‑conformance categories, maintaining disciplined documentation of investigations, decisions, and lessons learned.
  • Controlling and supporting financial and operational performance by managing purchase orders, mitigating supply chain risks, and participating in supply chain optimization initiatives.
