This role involves maintaining supplies, equipment, and materials for the daily operation of the surgery center. It includes supervising record-keeping for ordering, receiving, and payment of requisitions and purchase orders, as well as maintaining automated systems for materials management. The position also coordinates physical inventory, performs mandatory bi-annual reporting, monitors savings opportunities, coordinates product evaluations, performs cost analysis, and works closely with physicians on product evaluations. Additionally, the role oversees the availability of necessary instruments and prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures. Responsibilities include pre-operation preparations, assembling and checking equipment, assisting the surgical team, passing instruments, holding retractors, cutting sutures, counting supplies, preparing and disposing of specimens, applying dressings, operating equipment like sterilizers and suction machines, and assisting with diagnostic equipment. Post-operation duties include transferring patients and cleaning/restocking the operating room. Other duties as assigned.
