About The Position

CDE Lightband, the municipal power provider for the City of Clarksville, offers electric, television, Internet, and phone service to customers within the city limits. CDE Lightband serves over 86,000 metered homes and businesses with electric service and over 33,000 customers with broadband services over our Fiber to the Premise Network. The Materials Management Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the continuous reliability of CDE Lightband's electric and broadband services. This position is responsible for the accurate receipt, tracking, distribution, and inventory management of critical infrastructure materials. Additionally, the incumbent will oversee routine facility maintenance to ensure a safe, efficient, and clean warehouse environment. This role requires an energetic, detail-oriented professional dedicated to providing exceptional internal and external customer experiences.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
  • Two years of related experience with experience in electrician or plumbing, preferred but not required
  • Driver's License & DOT Operator Qualifications
  • Forklift Certification or ability to obtain upon hire, CPR/AED or ability to obtain upon hire
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, also considered
  • Knowledgeable of Customer service principles and practices
  • Knowledgeable of basic warehouse, material management, electrician, plumbing, and maintenance practices
  • Skilled in Basic Computer and related software applications
  • Skilled in reading and comprehending training documents
  • Ability to work independently and individually, and to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both in writing and through spoken words
  • Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions

Responsibilities

  • Receives, unloads, tracks, and organizes shipments; operates various equipment to assist with tasks; while picking up, sorts, stocks, and distributes
  • Tracks and updates operational records, including inventory, delivery status, and storage records; prepares a variety of order forms and basic operational reports
  • Inspects inventory for quantity counts and
  • Performs and assists with projects as needed per request or the needs of the Purchasing Manager, Warehouse, or Safety
  • Performs other duties as assigned of a similar nature, or to provide assistance as needed
