About The Position

Crown Innovations is seeking a detail-oriented Materials Management Specialist to support warehouse and manufacturing operations at our Ontario, California facility. This position plays a vital role in ensuring inventory accuracy, maintaining accountability of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Government Furnished Property (GFP), and supporting the timely movement of materials required for FAA modernization projects. The Material Inventory Specialist is responsible for receiving materials, maintaining inventory records, issuing components to production personnel, performing inventory audits, and ensuring all inventory transactions are accurately recorded within the company's inventory management system. This role partners closely with Warehouse Operations, Rack Fabrication, Procurement, Manufacturing, Program Management, and Finance to maintain inventory integrity while supporting production schedules and customer commitments. The ideal candidate is highly organized, process-driven, and committed to maintaining exceptional inventory accuracy while continuously identifying opportunities to improve warehouse operations and inventory controls. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, material management, or logistics.
  • Experience utilizing inventory management systems, ERP systems, or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles including FIFO inventory management.
  • Experience maintaining inventory records and performing cycle counts.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks or obtain certification.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening and criminal background check
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Government contracting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, verify, and accurately record incoming materials within the Inventory Management System.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through routine cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Properly store materials utilizing First In, First Out (FIFO) inventory practices.
  • Maintain accountability for Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Government Furnished Property (GFP).
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or replenishment needs.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and assist with corrective actions.
  • Generate inventory reports and assist with inventory analysis.
  • Issue materials, components, and assemblies to production personnel based on manufacturing requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions for all material movements.
  • Barcode finished products and assemblies for inventory tracking.
  • Track more than 150 different assemblies and components within the Inventory Management System.
  • Ensure packing lists, receiving documentation, and inventory records are complete and accurately maintained.
  • Maintain organized inventory storage locations to maximize efficiency and material accessibility.
  • Assist with daily shipping and receiving activities.
  • Prepare materials for shipment while ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Verify received materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Assist Warehouse Operations leadership with inventory projects and warehouse initiatives.
  • Partner closely with Warehouse Operations, Rack Fabrication, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Program Management to support production schedules.
  • Recommend improvements that increase inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining inventory procedures and best practices.
  • Support warehouse audits and inventory reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation supporting inventory transactions and government property accountability.
