About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for ensuring that direct ship supplies and inventory supplies are distributed in a timely manner throughout the Health System. This involves managing the supply flow of the storeroom inventory items by receiving stock from vendors, restocking the shelves, picking orders, delivering supplies, and maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly environment.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid Michigan drivers license and be eligible to drive a MidMichigan Health vehicle.
  • Ability to lift/handle heavy objects, to stay on feet for long periods of time and to handle physical labor for long periods of time required.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training must also be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
  • Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
  • Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).
  • Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.
  • Some exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
  • Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.

Responsibilities

  • Support the work of material handlers, order fulfillment, and receiving personnel with stocking, organizing receipts, and cycle counts as required and directed by the manager.
  • Complete supply requisition by removing from inventory those items requested, packaging the order, staging for delivery.
  • Maintain neat, clean and orderly storerooms, receiving area, and outside dock area. Ensures proper rotation of stock.
  • Distribute/deliver stock and non-stock orders throughout the Medical Center, and MOB's.
  • Checks in/receives stock and items within the Materials Information System.
  • In the performance of the regular job duties, it is appropriate for this position to have access to the medication room and supply room for the purpose of stocking.
  • Maintain equipment (bins/shelving/carts etc.,) as required, such as charging the electric pallet jack(s).
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Employees need to demonstrate competency in Microsoft Windows.
  • An employee may be required to participate in further learning opportunities offered by MyMichigan Health.
