About The Position

Wood is currently recruiting for a Material Controller (Material & Logistics Specialist) to work onsite at our project located in Geismar, Louisiana. This is a project-based position with an anticipated duration of 18 months. The role is a member of the Supply Chain Organization, responsible for the effective receipt, storage, movement, and control of all materials on site, reporting directly to the project’s Materials Manager.

Requirements

High School Diploma required.
Experience working on a jobsite.
Familiarity with warehousing, material control, systems and tools, and EPC project philosophies.
Varied and detailed work experience in the industry which would allow understanding of and exposure to key material control and logistics concepts and principles.
Previous use of ERPs such as Maximo, Oracle, SAP.
Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of tools.
Good communication skills, written, oral and presentation.
Logical thinker.
Planning and organizational skills.
Ability to work as part of project execution team.
Ability to identify efficiency, process and tool improvement opportunities and successful drive through change.
Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.

Responsibilities

Accountable for the successful delivery of all materials and logistics activities.
Inspects all incoming equipment and materials.
Prepares and issues material receiving reports for all incoming material and equipment, including Material Receipt Reports, and Over, Shorts, and Damages reporting.
Stores and maintains control over all equipment and material delivered to the job site.
Allocation, control, issue and marshalling of materials between different work locations.
Timely updating of procurement system with goods receipts / manifests / shipping documentation.
Warehouse materials handling (e.g., OS&D checks, bagging and tagging, preparation for shipping and marshalling/loading of shipments).
Identification of materials shortages and surplus.
Control of Inventory in accordance with required inventory regime (e.g., FIFO/Kanban) and ensuring accuracy thereof by monitoring of warehouse activity, cycle counts and stock checks.
Production of Materials Status reporting to project and client.
