About The Position

The Materials & Logistics Specialist is responsible for supporting daily warehouse and inventory operations to ensure accurate receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials and products. This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production through work order kitting, and ensuring timely shipping and receiving activities. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or production environment preferred.
  • Experience transacting receipts, issuances, and transfers in an ERP/MRP Inventory Management system such as SAP or Deltek Costpoint.
  • Ability to read pick lists, work orders, packing slips, shipping documents, and inventory reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to details.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem solving and reasoning skills to assist with resolution of issues.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Capability to interpret data.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming materials, verify quantities and condition of shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Perform shipping functions including packaging, labeling, documentation, and coordination with carriers.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through inventory control systems and physical inventory counts.
  • Conduct cycle counts, periodic physical inventories, and inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Pull, stage, and kit materials for production work orders to support manufacturing schedules.
  • Ensure proper storage, identification, and handling of inventory and materials.
  • Track and document material movement transactions in ERP/MRP or inventory management systems.
  • Support material replenishment activities and monitor stock levels.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, production, quality, and program teams to resolve material discrepancies.
  • Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as required.
  • Assist with receiving inspections and non-conforming material segregation when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and inventory control processes.
  • Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives related to warehouse and inventory operations.
  • Wholly maintain inventory of material.
