About The Position

As a Materials Lead at our Memphis, TN facility, you will support and lead daily stockroom and materials operations to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely material flow. You will act as a key liaison between operations and inventory control, helping drive performance, resolve issues, and maintain high standards for accuracy, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in materials, inventory control, or warehouse operations required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Strong understanding of stockroom, inventory control, and material flow processes.
  • Ability to identify operational issues and support root cause problem-solving.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate effectively with multiple departments.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills, including experience with ERP systems and RF scanners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership mindset with the ability to guide and support team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a lead or senior material handler role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations in alignment with inventory control procedures and departmental goals.
  • Assist in monitoring team performance and identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Drive reduction of material processing time, including recommending overtime or recovery actions when needed.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and visual aids are functional, accurate, and up to date.
  • Provide regular and accurate feedback to Inventory Control and Quality teams; assist in problem solving related to schedules, equipment, documentation, and staffing.
  • Act as a key point of contact across departments including Operations, Engineering, Program Management, and support functions.
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping for shipping, receiving, and stockroom activities.
  • Monitor aging materials in receiving and shipping areas to ensure inventory accuracy and proper handling.
  • Ensure production lines are supplied with the correct materials on time to avoid disruptions.
  • Ensure all materials are stocked promptly and accurately.
  • Identify and help eliminate errors impacting quality, cost, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide feedback to Inventory Control leadership on team member performance, strengths, and development needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Comply with all company security policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
