Materials Helper (Storeroom) - Forest Park, GA
About The Position
The Materials Helper Storeroom position assists the Senior Storekeeper with their responsibilities as they apply to warehouse activities. This role involves organizing and inventorying warehouse materials, preparing materials for outgoing shipment, maintaining a clean work environment, and assisting customers and employees with locating, loading, and unloading materials. This is a position covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Georgia Power and IBEW Local 84, with union membership being optional. The starting salary is governed by this agreement and includes regular increases with satisfactory performance, along with a negotiated general increase every July.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Successful completion of Warehouse - Clerical Test is required
- Ability to follow instructions and translate those instructions into action items
- Must be able to interact with various internal customers
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously/repetitively is required
- Ability to safely operate a forklift or similar motorized warehouse equipment for warehouse materials distribution
- Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience
- Must hold a valid driver’s license for the class vehicle to be operated
- No revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application
- No convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application
- Must consent to a continuous monitoring of your Motor Vehicle Record
Nice To Haves
- Warehouse related experience and/or background is highly preferred
- Computer literacy desirable
Responsibilities
- Organize and inventory warehouse materials
- Prepare materials for outgoing shipment

- Assist customers and employees with loading and unloading of materials
- Travel to other Region Storerooms to assist as needed
- Work overtime and storm duty when necessary
