About The Position

The Materials Handler loads, unloads, and tracks shipments of raw and finished items while maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the dock, packaging room, and trailers. The role transfers materials to and from production lines, handles inbound and outbound deliveries, and supports production by identifying and allocating materials. The position works in a cold environment of 30–40°F and is assigned to 1st shift.

Requirements

At least 6 months of forklift operator experience; experience may be combined across employers.
Pass the Forklift Certification Test upon hire.
Be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Work in a cold environment of 30–40°F.
Stand, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Walk and reach with hands and arms 34–66% of the time.
Use hands and fingers to handle and feel 67–100% of the time.

Responsibilities

Transfer materials to and from production lines as needed.
Load and log materials on outbound trailers.
Unload and verify inbound material deliveries.
Clean and organize the dock and packaging room daily.
Dispose of discarded packaging and damaged items, and return items not needed for current production to the dry trailer for return to the dry warehouse.
Maintain proper segregation of allergen items as required by Quality Control.
Assist with physical inventory counts and verifications.
Assist production with identifying and allocating materials.
Notify production and warehouse supervisors or managers of material shortages or substitutions.
Sweep and clean empty trailers.
Return unused items to the freezer or cooler at the end of the shift.
Connect forklifts to chargers at the end of the shift or as necessary during the day.
Maintain fluid levels in forklift batteries.
Perform other duties as assigned.
