About The Position

This is a 6-month contract position for a Materials Handler/Maintenance Mechanic Level II. The role involves performing physical and administrative tasks related to shipping, receiving, storing, distributing, and order fulfillment of various items. Additionally, the position requires maintaining and repairing the facility's structure, equipment, and grounds, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. The job also includes skilled trades work such as carpentry or painting, and working with engineering on production process installations or repairs. Regular inspections of the premises for necessary repairs are also part of the duties.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or minimum of 2 years of related experience; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Computer Skills needed (Microsoft applications, etc)
  • Sedentary and physical components requiring filing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 35lbs as necessary.
  • Mix of physical work and up to 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
  • Checks goods received and for distribution against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.
  • Packages and prepares products and merchandise for final shipment and posts weights and shipping charges.
  • Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift.
  • Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped and received.
  • Reviews customer orders, examines, stocks and distributes merchandise, products and materials in inventory warehouses, distribution centers or manufacturing lines.
  • Inventory management.
  • Maintains and repairs the facility’s structure, equipment and grounds, including plumbing, electrical and HVAC.
  • Performs skilled trades work, such as carpentry or painting in the construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures.
  • Works with manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring required in the production process.
  • Makes periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine repair work necessary.
  • Works from blueprints, drawings or rough sketches.
